Spiritual Heritage: Discovering Your Identity and Purpose as a Man of Faith

As a man of faith, your spiritual heritage is an important part of your identity and purpose. Here are three Bible scriptures to guide you on your journey toward discovering your spiritual heritage:

 

Ephesians 1:11-14 - "In him we were also chosen, having been predestined according to the plan of him who works out everything in conformity with the purpose of his will, in order that we, who were the first  to put our hope in Christ, might be for the praise of his glory. And you also were included in Christ when you heard the message of truth, the gospel of your salvation.

 

When you believed, you were marked in him with a seal, the promised Holy Spirit, who is a deposit guaranteeing our inheritance until the redemption of those who are God’s possession—to the praise of his glory."

 

Point 1: You were chosen and predestined according to God's will. Your faith in Christ gives you a spiritual inheritance that is guaranteed by the Holy Spirit.

Psalm 16:5-6 - "Lord, you alone are my portion and my cup; you make my lot secure. The boundary lines have fallen for me in pleasant places; surely I have a delightful inheritance."

 

Point 2: God is your portion and cup. Your spiritual heritage is secure in him, and he has prepared a delightful inheritance for you.

2 Corinthians 5:17 - "Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here!"

 

Point 3: Your identity as a man of faith is rooted in your new creation in Christ. You have a new purpose and a new heritage as a child of God.

As a man of faith, your spiritual heritage is a significant part of your identity and purpose. These scriptures remind us that we have been chosen, sealed by the Holy Spirit, and given a delightful inheritance.
